I have been in front line services as long as I can remember. Whether direct or in direct, the key word are the same ; dealing with Human or person from various level of society and mentality.
Of course over the years, I did venture one level up each time. Settling at premium front liners for the past 7 seven years had thought me many lesson, build up character in away.
As the world change, we become more and more independent. We are experiencing what the Westerner has done before ; in the era or Advancing Asia now. We become the rise of current millennium age. Westerner had done it before ; the only advantage that we have is the technology has concurrently rise from one level to another.
Being an Asian, superiority as very much an issue. Money still talk bigger volume than capability. Moving forward along with the Westerner, our company is gonna re-brand the life-style privileges.
I am excited about this idea of course only to ponder back ; how ready is this Asia community to move along re-branding. Premium product means, premium services...what about the end user ? Are they 'premium' as well.
One thing for sure, they are not. The community is not moving along into 'premium' level as we expected. If in the event only selected society is given these life-style privileges chances are the product will died of. Put it simple, the rich and famous has their way of doing things. They immediate hire had to be utilize to the maximum so it worth the cost. If these rich society decided to make us of their life-style privileges, their butler will be out of job for sure.
In the West when it come to premium life-style their said utilization are really premium. Weird, impossible and dare devil kind of request. For example, James Bond - Tailored tuxedo for wedding, bacon theme party and the most memorable request was a dying father wanted to visit the Knick Stadium in US just to touch the wall of the stadium ; back during his hay days.
At our end here, we do have such memorable request that leave a huge print in our heart because we are the one that make it possible. I would say only 10% of it we can label it Premium, the rest is just another plain lazy, low mentality kind of issue that only take a bit of common sense.
In the West, to utilize a direct service from another person for example a butler ; that butler's benefit and welfare is has a huge volume comparing to their wages. Wrong move, they can actually put their employer in prison for violating human rights.
Unlike here, the term butler literally mean broad day light slaves. Not much of the physical abuse but rather mental and verbal abuse - just because I have money ; I can pay ...you don't like, get lost and will just replace you with another person.
So, bottom line no matter how much re-branding or premium product out there in the market, if it doesn't go along with the right mentality and attitude.
It is said, if we can change people, change your attitude. Well, sit in our shoe for 30 days at least and pick up the calls..then we talk. Who's attitude need to be change then... :)
My soul therapy ...I just tell myself - Its nothing personal, just work. Do what you can..take care of our own rice bowl that's the most important.
After a long day at work, I make a point to take shower every time I reach home. Clean yourself and pray for a while then sleep. It helps a lot. Dust off yourself from what happen outside. We listen, we talk, we walk and so many public issue that we face daily. Its a very negative vibe at times. Just ensure you are clean before going to bed.
Every time if I feel down or just plain lost ; I will silently think of all those good things in life. Appreciate what I have, say it out loud at times. This is what I have in life....it works wonders. The positive energy does not come a light right away but through practise....be happy and laugh often.
